Despite all the criticism, it seems that almost sure decision of Apple to delete your next iPhone 3.5 mm jack comes at a good time. According to the NPD company which carries out market research, wireless headphones outweigh benefits to the traditional running cable in the United States during the month of June.
Bluetooth headset took over no less than 54% of the money that was spent on headphones in the month of June and 17% in terms of units sold. NPD stresses that the headphone industry suffered a 7% increase with respect to the expenditure that is made in this same industry the previous year while Bluetooth headphones suffered an increase of 42% in the same period of time.
One of the reasons of this increase can be attributed to the price of them. The average price of Bluetooth headsets for sale decreased by 5% first half of 2015 to 2016. In fact, more than one quarter of the sellers in this period cost less than 50 dollars. Amazon mismamente is filled with offerings of Bluetooth helmets for less than that price.
On the other hand, brands like Beats, LG and Bose are still leaders of sales with other companies as Jaybirds and Skullcandy marking the top 5.
Ben Arnold of NPD analyst, spoke about his vision of the trend to the wireless:
Consumers are already aware about a future without cables and if, as rumored, the next iPhone does not bring jack 3, 5 mm, we hope that the Bluetooth headset market share continues to rise
All indications are that Apple can revolutionize this market that seems to be taking a turn toward the wireless thanks to your iPhone already 7 (or 6SE, as you want to be called at the end). However, surely the choice of headphones with Lightning or Lightning-jack adapter connection is a widely used by more “traditional” variable.
