Sales of the iPhone are fatal, at least that is what we are selling from many media. So much so that last week analysts predicted a drop of between 25% and 50% in shares of Apple. Unfortunately for them, the shares climbed almost 2%. During the Q3 report, the company estimated to have sold 988,15 billion iPhone, hoping to reach the 1 billion soon. Phill Schiller could not contain his joy, he ended up sharing on Twitter that had reached at last the famous iPhone billion, a product that has lengthened considerably in time and which is still object of desire for many users.
This has been the press release that Apple has issued to celebrate:
Cupertino, Calif., July 27, 2016. In a meeting between employees in Cupertino this same morning, the CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, has announced that the company has sold 1 billion iPhone.
The iPhone has become one of the most important products, the world has changed and possibly part of the story. It has been much more than an accessory, or a tool. The iPhone is really an essential part of the daily lives of many users, and helps them take better throughout the day. Last week we managed to sell the iPhone billion. We have never tried to be the best, but we always tried to make the best products that make a difference. Thanks to everyone at Appel for helping us change the world every day.
These words are the CEO of the company that dedicated employees to celebrate such feat. Curious that we would reach this point, when many predicted that Apple would fall sharply after the death of Steve Jobs, and no one would give a hard by Tim Cook.
