The other day we mentioned the rumor on the blog, but want to delve a little more into the topic and make a reflection about the fate of Apple and the industry regarding the renewal of products, since between now and September to see the new iPhone (or sooner if the name is filtered permanently) will probably be the biggest unknown.
Jumps generational
Today, July 26, 2016, neither Apple nor the industry are capable of offering substantial innovations such as to justify a generational leap every two years, it’s that simple. And we can see it in the list below in which I summarize the greater change in each terminal that jumped from generation that assumes you already a new design and an increase of the performance:
- iPhone 3G: inclusion of high speed data
- iPhone 4: high resolution Retina Display screen
- iPhone 5: display of 4″, LTE
- 6 iPhone: screen 4. 7″ and 5. 5″, higher resolution (Plus), substantial improvements in the camera
And now comes supposedly 7 iPhone if Apple does not break with years and years of tradition in terms of the nomenclature, which I personally every time I see more likely.
Not there is innovation
The problem of the industry right now is that there is no innovation enough every two years, is so simple, and Apple know it. The risk of having an iPhone 7 without substantial news is there and it is perhaps better to opt for an iPhone 6SE. With the amount of iPhones that sells Apple, them leaks already are something usual and to these heights can be almost entirely sure of what will take the next iPhone. Yes, take a camera more large, perhaps lens dual in the Plus, new processors and a design slightly renovated. But not is can be glimpsed any big change, no Retina Display, no LTE, no change in the terminal at the sight.
The iPhone every year is better and that is no doubt, and many are the ones who update it annually due to the great personal and professional use we give. But for a person in the street, the 3D Touch or a slightly better camera probably won’t be enough as if it was the screen Retina or LTE.
And if we look to the future, I believe that for many the killer feature of the iPhone 7 should be the battery. Not is if 7 iPhone will be released in 2016 or 2017, and I believe that we will not see a great novelty with respect to this property. But I think that this is where it should be money for r & d, in terms of battery are in the same position as in 2008, 2010, 2012, or 2014, a day of intensive use and thank you. Wouldn’t an iPhone 7 with 7 days of battery wonderful? Certainly yes, and the multi-touch and the Retina Display left us open-mouthed, a substantial increase in the performance of the batteries would leave us with the jaw on the floor. Time will tell.
