Right now, Apple offers content of several publications of spoken English, as Huffington Post, Reuters, Slate.. MIC, Wired, IGN, Bustle, Fusion, Gizmodo, Jezebel, Lifehacker, TIME, Skift and Playboy (Playboy narrated…). As the rest of publications, the section Spoken Edition is divided in categories, as Briefings, Milennial Mindset, Policy in Perspective, Inclusion and Identity or Money Talks.
The content of Spoken Edition uses a technology of SpokenLayer that goes to audio the content of them feeds RSS. To difference of what could think, the technology of SpokenLayer makes that seem that the text it is narrating a person, something that is far from listen the content with the famous voices of “Loquendo”.
The chapters of these spoken editions are rather short, somewhat understandable if we consider that what we are hearing will be the text read items on a web page.
