According to MacRumors, Caltech registered several patents between 2006 and 2012 related ANGER/LDPC codes. These codes improve performance and data transmission rates in general. This same technology is currently implemented within the standards Wi-Fi 802. 11n and 802. 11ac which are used by many of the company’s products with headquarters in Cupertino.
The complaint against Apple was presented in the Court of the District of United States in California. According to Caltech Apple products, including the iPhone, iPad and Mac used encoders and decoders IRA / LDPC infringed four patents previously registered by the California Institute of technology in this way.
