A few weeks ago the Consortium MCX announced that the project he has been working a few years, CurrentC paralyzed launch during to certain operating and security problems was having on the platform. But it seems that those problems are more important than it seems and could compel this platform to close before even of power offer this payment service to the market, which is not based on NFC technology, but it makes use of an application compatible with all platforms and mobile market, in such a way that its use would extend more rapidly among all users.
MCX has announced the suspension of its service on June 28 between all users who are currently using the application in beta. All users who were enrolled in the beta program and received a gift coupon, can make use of it, up to June 28, date on which the application will cease to operate and already can not retrieve the money that the beta testers had introduced in this service.
MCX began to develop CurrentC with the intention of offering a direct through the bank account payment of users without having to have a credit card. The MCX Consortium consists of large stores such as Wal-Mart and Best Buy, whose stores currently do not offer compatibility with Apple Pay and who were waiting for the release of CurrentC to expand the forms of payment among its clients.
While CurrentC has stalled the project, Apple Pay has just added 34 banks and credit institutions that already allow to add their credit and debit cards. At the moment, the latest country to Apple Pay, receive you with open hands as I reported yesterday will be Switzerland, which will arrive next Monday of June 13, the same day that WWDC will be held.
