Since the launch of the Apple Watch, many have been users who have left their old Pebble in a drawer to adopt the new Apple smartwatch, since all limited features that offered us the Pebble are available on Apple’s Apple Watch. Through the jailbreak we could extend some of the Pebble limited functions, but many of those tweaks have been discontinued.
But, far from abandoning completely the Pebble, there are still developers who rely on this device. Sawyer Vaughan has launched a new tweak called TextSender by Pebble that extends the possibilities of the Pebble allowing us to send messages from a device, a feature that we could not previously done, unless we had the line with some of the American operators that currently allow it.
Send text messages from the Pebble
Obviously, this tweak is only designed for Pebble users who want to expand the possibilities of your Pebble smartwatch, provided they have jailbreak on their devices. In this way we can reply to the messages we receive without having to remove your iPhone from your pocket. It should be recalled that Android devices do not have any limitation in this respect and we interact in both directions.
Thanks to the TextSender application for Pebble in our device jailbroken with the free application of Pebble and the free app TextSender for Pebble installed in our (available through the Pebble) Pebble can texting from the native iPhone application.
Requirements
To be able to use this new feature in combination with this tweak we need at least firmware version 3.0 in our Pebble. In addition, the Pebble application installed on our iPhone must be updated to the latest version, any previous version will show the message “Pebble OLD VERSION”.
TextSender for Pebble is priced at $0.99 in Cydia, a much cheaper option to expand the functions of our Pebble having to replace it with a Apple Watch to respond from our smartwatch
