The latest published information that pointed to the next iPhone 7 incorporate a start button with Force Touch technology is corroborated by analysts from Cowen & Company. According to reports that appeared in the Business Insider, the button will be at the same height as the surface of the phone, will not be like the current Start button, so it will not be standable. This will mean two things, a cleaner design, and a button that when not being able to physically, not may be damaged.
Apple users have always focused part of their complaints and claims the iPhone Home button. Now, with this new design and Force Touch built-in feature, button will be flush with the surface, will not be clickable, but it will be a sensor that detects the pressure that is exerted on it. Therefore, it is something similar to what happens with the trackpad in the most recent MacBooks, which can perform the same functions as the future home of Apple’s mobile phone button.
One of the issues that do arise against this change is the possible problem that would arise when it comes to restart the device. Right now, the iPhone can be restarted by pressing the Start button and the power at the same time, as if it were a hard reset in cases of total device lock. If the Start button turns into a surface sensor, a new way to get this reset of the phone, for example, with buttons that control the volume should be implemented.
In addition, analysts at Cowen & Company also advance the iPhone 7 will have a submersible design, waterproof, something that had been rumored enough during the last months. As the coming of the new Apple smartphone, rumors happen… but as always it will be impossible to confirm until it is submitted to the public.
